Welcome to Kalloni! Our story begins in 2010 when we incorporated our business, but in reality, we have been going on for over 30 years. We started selling our olive oil and soaps to family and friends at the very beginning. In order to serve our customers and our growing sales we moved to a commercial unit. All our products are made out of our olive oil from Greece.
Our family farm is in southern Greece just a short drive from the ancient city of Sparti. Kalloni is on an altitude of about 600m above sea level, surrounded by mountains, low humidity, with a sea breeze from the ocean. Our olive groves thrive in a rocky terrain with a spongy soil composition which ensures quality of olive oil like no other. We don’t fertilize the trees and absolutely do not spay any chemicals on them. There is no irrigation system only what nature provides every year. Although many trees are 100 – 1,000 years old some of them are in excess of 3,000 years old.
Our handmade soaps are made with the same olive oil we harvest from Greece. We only add all-natural ingredients and don’t use any machinery or any other mechanical devices. All soaps are made by hand and therefore no 2 soaps are alike. In 2001, I took a 3 month trip to visit many remote places in Greece so I could learn as much as possible about soapmaking and the secrets behind the way it’s done. Personally, my first experience was when I was 8 years old making soap with my mom. What goes in the soap and how it’s produced makes a big difference in the final product.
